    Have a Safe Zombie Yule

    By Corvus | December 21, 2007

Zombie ClausI know there are probably geeks out there who would be threatened by having a wife who frequently out-geeks them. But when Ms. Z suggested we have a Zombie Yule this year, I had to stand back in awe and acknowledge the superior geek… if only for a moment. Then I had to embellish the idea and create a commemorative design… of course.

So on Tuesday while the rest of the world does… whatever it is the rest of the world does on this holiday, Ms. Z and I will be cuddled up safely in the Monster Nest, watching zombie movies, playing zombie videogames, singing zombie songs and celebrating the fact that we’ve just about made it through another year, free of the Zombie Apocalypse.

There’s been some discussion as to whether alcohol will be appropriate at this sort of event and we’ve decided that it all depends on which side of the coming conflict you’re rooting for. I, for one, plan on getting a least a little of my drink on. After all, there’s no zombie supporter like a drunk and belligerent zombie supporter (just kidding, sweetie).

I’m giving MBB a rest until Wednesday or Thursday, so enjoy your holiday! If after all the crazed consumerism, overeating and maddening family moments you think your brain is about to pop, just lie back and let your brain go still. It’s best to give into those zombie moments. I know we plan to.

..and should you feel like celebrating your own survival of the season, consider commemorating the accomplishment with a t-shirt. Zombie Claus graces the front and the slogan, “I Survived Zombie Yule ‘07″ is written across the back. If you don’t like the shirt I picked, you can even put the design on the t-shirt of your choice. Look, it even comes with a fancy Flash widget:

Ah, these are what the Discordian Winter Festival of Swik are all about. :D You mention Yule, but you don’t strike me as a Wiccan… perhaps you should convert to celebrating Swik? ;)

Best wishes to you and your lovely wife, and may Gregorian New Year bring you more joy than you can bear!

Zombie Yule, Chris. Very different beast.

…and I’m more traditionally pagan about some things than I typically let on here, although you’re quite right about me not being very Wiccan. *kniw*

Best wishes to you and yours as well!

World War Z and the Zombie Survival Handbook were both on my Christmas lists. My wife thought I was crazy.

Brilliant! I might have to celebrate Zombie Yule at my own home!

Wish I’d known — this would have been the perfect card for you!

A very merry Zombiemas to you both!
